What is mobile communication ?

It is the technology to be used for connecting people from one location to another within or without geographic areas

Mobile communication is evolving day by day from the day of invention and has become a must essential for everyone. Mobile communication is a process of exchange of voice and data using a communication network having a physical structure.

From the day of telephonic system invented by Alexander Graham Bell IN 1876 , scientist, engineers were trying to develop better communication system in different part of world like in USA, JAPAN.

In 1900, on December 23, an inventor named Reginald Fessenden from Washington, D.C accomplished to place first wireless telephone call. He was the first to transmit the human voice via radio waves, sending a signal from one radio tower to another.

In 1947, an engineer named William Rae Young proposed that radio towers arranged in a hexagonal pattern could support a telephone network. He developed the network with another engineer named D.H. Ring, who led a team at Bell Laboratories, which was part of AT&T at the time.

Young’s design allowed for low-power transmitters to carry calls across the network. Although Young’s theory was acceptable at that time, but there is some lacking which would take more than 10-15 years for the next development.

While the world waited for further developments in cellular technology, companies like AT&T offered some customers to use radio telephones which have vast difference with today’s cell phone system. These device were resembled walkie-talkie transceivers. Only a few calls could be made on the system at a time. Callers would sometimes have to wait for another conversation to end before completing a call, which also meant that private conversations were practically impossible.

By the 1960s, engineers Richard H. Frenkiel and Joel S. Engel from Bell Labs developed the technology that could support Young’s design of a cellular network. That time AT&T sought permission from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to develop a cellular network due to which it was not breakthrough.

Later in 1973,an executive with Motorola, name Martin Cooper designed the first practical cell phone(Motorola DynaTAC) .Cooper made the first cellular telephone call to professional rival Joel Engel at Bell Labs.
